Age Well at Home
The Age Well at Home (AWAH) Program, operated through Moose Jaw Support Services for Seniors, provides practical, compassionate, and affordable supports that help older adults remain in their own homes safely and independently for as long as possible.
Our services are based in Moose Jaw and extend to rural surrounding areas, where many seniors face barriers such as transportation challenges, mobility issues, low income, or lack of nearby family support.
We focus on practical help, connection, and dignity ensuring that no senior is left behind simply because of age, health, or financial limitations.
Every service we provide helps reduce isolation, improve well-being, and strengthen community ties.
All work helps seniors maintain safe, accessible homes while reducing stress and preventing accidents.
Seniors in Moose Jaw and rural Saskatchewan often face barriers that can lead to early institutionalization or isolation. The Age Well at Home Program bridges that gap by offering affordable, local, and personalized care.
We believe that every senior deserves to remain home where they belong — connected to their neighbours, community, and the life they’ve built.
Our services not only improve daily living but also strengthen mental health, prevent loneliness, and reduce healthcare costs by keeping seniors healthy, active, and independent.
What We Do
Resource Centre
We help seniors fill out forms, navigate health and government systems, access community resources, and connect with trusted local businesses offering senior discounts.
Grocery Shopping & Meal Preparation
We assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, and meal prep. We will soon be starting our frozen meal program (please ask to go on the wait list). Meals can be prepared in bulk and frozen, helping seniors maintain a healthy diet even when cooking becomes difficult.
Mobility & Companionship
We provide safe mobility support by accompanying seniors on walks and encouraging light physical activity suited to their ability. Companionship visits include conversation, reading, games, meal preparation, light housework, or simply sharing time together — offering the warmth of friendship and reducing the loneliness many older adults experience.
Additional companion services include:
• Hospital bedside sitting
• Care home visits
• Prescription pick-up or delivery
• Handyman or yard work assistance
